The Uggla Family Scholarship Programme

, his Canadian alma mater. In addition, he is supporting the university education of graduates from the Shitima School in Zambia. Once fully rolled out, these scholarship programmes will enable a university education for 100 talented students across the world in any one year.

“I feel fortunate every single day that I have benefited from an excellent university education, and by enabling these Scholarships in perpetuity it is my way of saying thank you to LSE and the Simon Fraser University for giving me such a strong foundation for my career,” said Lance Uggla. “I am a father of four amazing children who are all building their careers from a similarly strong foundation. The Uggla Family Scholars that this programme will support, all from less advantaged backgrounds, will equally be given the opportunity to excel in the years ahead.  I am excited to get started and to help the first students begin their journeys.”

This generous programme will continue our work to shape the world with a global and diverse community of outstanding talent.”

The Uggla Family Scholarship Programme will fund three-year undergraduate programmes at LSE for ten new undergraduates each year. The scholarships will provide partial tuition fee awards for seven UK Undergraduates and for three Overseas Undergraduates, and full financial support for the Scholars’ term-time accommodation and other term-time expenses, which will include food, household bills, travel, study books and social events. In addition, Scholars will have access to a programme of support, mentoring, careers and skills development through the Uggla Family Scholars community throughout their undergraduate journey.
